I like a single action revolver when I'm trapping. You can crawl around in brush, bounce over ruts in a pickup or whatever else you need to do so long as you don't carry it cocked. Ruger single six is a dandy. Built to last. You wont wear it out unlike some cheaper models being sold. Put about ten bricks through a heritage I used to have and had to send it back to the factory to be rebuilt.

About two years ago, my favorite thing about mine is that I DONT have to tmae care of it, it was so cheap and would be cheap to replace that I just toss it in the pack basket and go.

I have plenty of pistols for the trap line but I prefer my old 10 22 ruger with a red dot scope. Once in a while I'll get into a few squirrels while running traps and get a mess of them. J

Heritage 22. Cheap and tough. You don't have to worry about keeping it out of the crud. But you do have to clean it. I've let mine go to where it's tough to eject casings. Pita. And you look cool stopping at the quickie Mart picking up a snack with it on your side. Ruger 10/22 if you got hands to pack it. You'll look silly packing it into the quickie Mart though.
