Suppose there was a lightening strike that surged into your house Electric System. It fried your Refrigerator, Stove, Microwave. all your Appliances, your Hot water tank, Well Pump, Sump Pump, and your Furnace along with the Breaker Panel . Would that be covered under Insurance, or , would they classify that as an ACT OF GOD???

Isnt an ACT OF GOD one of the reasons people buy insurance. If that happened to you I would recommend getting a better grounding electrode system and maybe a whole house surge protector.

If an act of God isn't covered you need a new insurance company

Has not happened yet. But, the substation that covers this area, is maxed out. Every time there is a bad Thunderstorm or an extremely hot day; the power goes out for over 1100 Customers.

It should be covered. It was covered for my parents. However, the insurance company might send someone out to inspect your electrical system as they did with my parents.

Tell them you would like to speak to god and ask why he did it , if they say they can't do that then tell them the proof is on them , if they say it was do to a power surge and won't cover it tell them you must of picked the wrong Ins com. I'm sure you do need to pay your deductible though. I would think you are covered. We went without power for some time didn't cook anything like the tv etc.. but the food in the refrig went bad Ins said it was covered but with the deductible I had we just trashed the food .But Virgil makes a point you may want someone to look a how you are protected and I would think the Ins Co would want to come out and look at it or send some one to look at it. They may ask if you did the wiring yourself or did some company do it.

Its covered, I own a tree service and have dealt with it twice. Both times it hit a tree then ran in the house. One only burnt appliances and the other time it burnt half the house, it was in a high end development and cost 575k to remodel and insurance covered both

That very thing happened to my son's little farm in 2014. Insurance covered it all but what a p.i.a. Inspectors said it was the worst lightning strike they had ever seen without the house burning down.

I wonder if atheists call it an act of god.
