It seems they would be difficult to hold steady,

Jonathan , my experience with mini binoculars is very similar to helping a lady pick out breast implants . I always wish I'd gone a bit bigger.

Those would be too powerful for me to hold steady ...for most people without a tripod.

I tried a few of the minis over the years then I tried a pair of Nikon 10x42 , conveniently I was on state street in Madison Wi for a sidewalk sale and the camera company had some refurbed binos for sale , trusted company bought lenses and cameras there at their off campus location. it was great being able to try out binos where I could see several hundred yards and had plenty of targets of all shapes and sizes at every range.

there was a guy wearing a striped shirt walking down the street , it was like playing where's Waldo with a live moving waldo and binos

I was about about 4 blocks down the street from the state capitol building and could clearly see and identify people and even read some of their shirts I was sold on the 10x42 nikon they don't sell that modle any more but I think it was the predecessor to the monarck line.

it is an extra 8 ounces but so much more useful than the minis and very important to me I can look through them with glasses on , they have cups that screw out for non glass wearers and in for glasses wearers

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I have 10x25 Swarovski that I found on eBay. Sent the to be serviced and they are as good as new.

Use they mostly from home or auto. Do not use them when hunting. Not for low light.
