Rates never go down is what bothers me, how can the rates keep going up year after year on a vehicle that's worth a lot less every year that goes by?

That said the wife's Jeep just had $6375.00 in hail damage and the guy said the that kind of damage won't raise our rates so that was a plus with Progressive.

Farm bureau saves me a lot of money, commercial truck policy is about 50$ a month, and contractor million dollar policy is 35$ a month, 83-84$ a month for both

Hail damage was paid under comprehensive section. Not an at fault accident.

I had Progressive for about 12 years. Best deal I could find. Never had a claim. Moved to another location and switched to Auto Owners for home and car. Progressive does not do homes so no multipolicy discount with them, unless they have changed. I tried USAA and when I told them I had Progressive, they would not even quote against them.

I probably have the most expensive insurance company being state farm.

I have been with them for years covering my vehicles, house, contractor policy, life insurance.

I am sure I could find cheaper but every claim I had I was totally satisfied and taken care of.

That's what the adjuster said about it being comprehensive and not going against us in the future hard to complain about a $5,700 rebate after her deductible was take out, I told her to put it down on the vehicle and take the discount rather then deal with a new roof and the problems that come with that.

Almost better to get Progressive if the rate seems lower and plan for the raises every year then move on if it gets out of hand. What you don't want is a place that has more lawyers then adjusters that will drag your claim around for months, the wife had her Progressive check the next week no problem. Great service!

If you stay with the same insurance company, it seems like they just keep raising your rates, to reward your loyalty. If you switch to another company, they just do the same, after a year or so. Switching every few years, will keep your rates lower.

All insurance goes up when you replace a vehicle with a newer vehicle. At least the collision portion does.

It also goes up when you have the same vehicle, drivers and no accidents and tickets, even though the vehicle is worth less.

Insurance companies are a legalized scam !!

Those who think they won't be charged more when they have a another accident don't be fooled you will, and it matters how soon it is to your last claim and the size of it when they drop you.

How many read the whole policy ? Not many I bet, with all that legal mumbo jumbo

I had one company for 33 years until one of my boys got his license, the wife got into a fender bender and they blamed the boy for it and canceled us. Got another cause we could not afford to fight the other, and they said we were to high a risk due to accidents, which I later found out was from our litigation many years ago when we lost the boy's, some company had labeled us self insured due to our settlement in court, bunch of crap !

I don't trust them but have to pay for them due to our laws in this country, you can get one large claim out of most but not more, and most will cancel ya after to many to close together depending on who is the driver and their record. My experience with them here any way !

We have Geico now happy with it and the rates, I still don't trust any of them !

Good luck !!

I was an agent for over 20 years and represented Progressive all of those 20 years. I sold lots of policies through them - mostly for commercial vehicles and some high-risk drivers.

In 20 years, I learned not to trust any insurance company. Some were better than others by I can say without hesitation that the company I trusted LEAST was most definitely Progressive.

Consumers here can relate their experience having had one policy with Progressive for a number of years and maybe one or two claims they had with Progressive. In comparison, I can share the relative experience of hundreds of years and hundreds of claims with Progressive. From my experience, Progressive would always be my last choice for my own insurance. I'd pay more, a lot more, for insurance from a better company. I expect pockets of incompetence at all levels from every insurance company. But in my years of experience working with dozens of different insurance companies, almost never did I find intentional, institutional policies that took advantage of consumers. The big exception was Progressive. I don't trust them at all.

I also used to sell insurance to a lot of body shops. "Garage" policies were the focus of my marketing efforts. Most body shops told me that dealing with Progressive and GEICO were a real pain in the rear. They said the Progressive claims adjusters / appraisers were mostly young kids right out of college working their first job and didn't know what the heck they were doing. I think you find that in their service personnel, also.

Progressive sucks....those kids walk around the vehicle with a marker ....drawing and circling all the dents “they think” were caused in the accident ....like they are experts in accident reconstruction... When I see a progressive van pull in the shop...we divert the appraiser......and take a bright colored marker and draw a big Richard on his tail gate.....lol
