I didn't know they even lived where you are. I like them also. They use to sell them in Roses with turtles, and parakeets.

Most people around here have never seen one but I'm horse back a lot checking cattle. if I keep my eyes open when I'm in some Rocky ground I'll usally see a few. Bottom pic is of one I found under mineral feeder yesterday.

I didn't realize they were that far East. Nature is amazing as their range continues to expand even with the cooler environment in Kansas they seem to survive.

I used to catch them all the time when I was a kid, growing up on the folks old rock pile of a farm! We had them, collared , and skinks, oh and lots of rattle snakes. Haven't seen a rattler in years, but still see some of the other lizards from time to time.

Lucky no rattlesnakes right around here. That would take the fun out of looking for these things. We have a couple other kind here to but they are usually too fast for me to get a good picture on my phone.

Neat little buggers used to have a couple as pets when I was a kid that were bought by friends that Moved to Kansas and come to visit
