Got a problem. Our '82 732 gas powered Bobcat broke down. A hydraulic hose broke a leak. It's a metal hose, & uses 10W30 for hydralic oil. Went to Carquest & they said patching a hose wouldn't work...too much pressure. Trouble is, we can't get to the other end of the hose, to put a new hose on. We took the seat off, as well as other components. Still can't get to it...not even close. It seems pulling the motor is the only option.!? There has to be a better way??? Any thoughts? Thanks so much! All the hydralic hoses run off the same reservoir, so we can't get the machine to the trailer. The fix would be easy if we could get to the part. Removing the gas & oil tanks wouldn't help because there's a welded plate under it. We have to finish building an access road to our land & are at a standstill. I'll study You Tube. I'm hoping there's a removable plate UNDER the machine, but it doesn't look like it.

One time I had to use a special wrench end that goes on a ratchet to change a hyd line on an 873, there was no other way to do it. If I remember right it was coming off the pump and the pump end was the fitting we needed the special wrench for. Forget what they are called.

Go and see the bobcat dealer and ask what they do.

We took the cage off tonight, along with some other stuff, & cleaned it up good.

The cab doesn't tilt.

ajw78, you're right. Saturday my dad priced a rental @ Ace Hardware & it was in the range you mentioned. Dad said he may sell this 1 next year. It's handy to own, but I know what you mean.

The Bobcat dealer is a hour away, but I kind of wish we would've bought the replacement hose there so I could pick their brain on how to fix this bugger.

my uncle works on machinery. I had an old case with a metal hose that was all pitted and leaking as fast as youd pour it in. he cut the metal out and replaced with rubber (one for high pressure), never had a problem since.

Did ya look at compression unions?

Ya have to be able to get to it enough to cut the line.

They are super handy to have around and worth fixing. If it a personal machine expecialy. We repalce ours ever 2000 hours I understand thats not an option for everyone But down time in heavy hwy work is costly.

The small one I had to work on 25 years ago the engine had to come out. We needed a pressure washer to clean it out.

ive braised several metal lines that where under "to much pressure to patch "and have had way more hold than not . If the hole is out where you can get a torch to it I would try it before I took their word for it and tore the machine apart to get to the other end
