When trapping a big river, what steps would you take to prevent your snare loops from being closed by the waves from boats, barges, etc?

You might also try this. It's fine gauge, floral wire, wrapped to take the place of a whammy and the end wraps loosely,in front of the lock.It really holds up in the wind but on coyotes etc,it can cause the snare to settle lower on the neck than I like.I haven't tried it in the water or on beaver.
