Yep..Is your redmax used daily in the growing season?

Our trimmers trim 25-30 yards a day around 30-35 weeks a year. Us OPTI mix oil with non ethanol gas, usually needs a tune up every 10-15,000 yards.

I would guess stihl are by far the most popular because they are sold every where.

I have the original old "Weedeater" brand. Not commercially, and I avoid weedeating as much as possible, but it's lasted years.

I sprayed Round up around all the places the rider couldn't get to and sold the trimmer.

I have an Echo, good trimmer. I had some carb. issues, wouldn't run right. Bought a new carb. with fuel lines from Amazon for $16.00 runs like new again.

My wife has a nice Stihl and a lighter weight Black and Decker - I touch neither and wait for frost to get it every year if she misses some weeds. I only chop my yard weeds down when they get about a foot tall a couple times a year. If I could, I'd graze all the way around the house. Mowing and weed whipping is a waste of time.

Stihl Kombi. Gives me a lot of options. Best purchase I could have made when I needed a new trimmer.

Avoid bent shafts. Those are mostly smaller and wear out quickly. Stihl and Echo are good models. If you use a blade, be very cafeful not to hit your toe, but if you do, it will still be in your shoe when the doctor removes you blood soaked shoe. Happened to a friend.
