My youngest kid turned 18 today and after a nice sit-down extended family breakfast, he went out and bought a used Mossberg 12 ga semi-auto shotgun. Of course, he didn't do it at Dick's or Walmart because of their new boot-licking pc policy of not letting 18-20 year olds buy long guns. So, up yours Dick's and Walmart, my 18 year old doesn't need to spend his hard earned money at your businesses. Power to personal liberty and freedom!!

Was a time a business was smart about what they did and did not do, but the people stuck together more then they do now, seems most folks just care about themselves only!

Lots of "smart" business people saying and doing stupid things to look smarter when they would be better off shutting their pie hole and not dividing their customer base for nothing but ego.

There are some places of business that keep telling me they do not want my money . I am sometimes slow to catch on but IF they do not want my business I can certainly find another place that will treat me as a valuable customer .

Most people will buy where they get the best price. The last gun I bought(6 yrs ago) was a Henry .22 when my youngest turned twelve. Walmart was the cheapest. I would rather have bought from one of the smaller local shops, but I would have had to wait for them to order it and I wouldn't see the actual gun until it arrived at their shop.

Most gun shops had no problem gouging shooters when it came to the shortage of .22 ammunition and my sons and I shot a lot more often before they raised their prices so high. Walmart at least kept the price down if you were lucky enough to get there before they sold out.

I stopped going to Wal Mart and Dicks when they started this policy. It may not be a drop in the bucket to them, but it is the principle of it.

Wal Mart did not keep their prices down on .22 shells. Gryhkl, and that Rifle you bought there has No warranty through them after it left the stores doors.

When one could find .22 ammunition on Wm shelves they were less than half what most gun shops were asking.
I did find a bunch of reasonably priced Winchester shells at Field and Stream at the time and bought a box (330 shells ea I think)for each of the boys but those seem to be so dirty they started jamming most of our guns.

Just a fact that when the last gun ban scare was going on a AR build kit sold for $179.00 now they are $120.00 or $109 on sale just the way it is the gun business has more downs then ups so make it when you can just supply and demand just don't go crazy.

The average price of gasoline during Obama's last year in office was $2.14. Our local stations are all around $3.10 today.

On a related note...

Out of curiosity I priced conduit at Lowe's the other day. A 10 foot stick of 2" galvanized rigid conduit was $80.

Know what that tells me?

You're an idiot if you buy conduit at Lowe's.

Should send both stores a letter telling them how they lost the sale and how much their policy sucks.

Light steel was 4.5 cents a pound at the end of July around here as scrap. I don't think the galvanization gets me any extra brownie points at the yard. Lowe's appears to be making some serious coin, I wonder how much they pay for that conduit wholesale...?

PC, my nearest Home Depot has 2" rigid for $57.75 a stick... That should tell you something.

The local electrical supply house always has better inventory and pricing... And they're always happy to have my business.

Lowe's advantage is that they're open until 9:00 and they're open on Sunday.
