Hi,
My brother has some rotten eggs and premature dead chicks that he got from incubating. Some of the eggs are partly developed chicks. What should he add to them to make bait? He is targeting Coyote, Grey Fox, Bobcat, Badger, Ringtail, Coon, Possum, & Skunk. How best should he use it?

Hello, I’ve seen you post a number of questions on bait lure. Have you ever tried the formulator forum? Seems some guys interested more in bait lure visit there and you get better responses. Also there’s a forum I think you would enjoy google “bucket of guts trapping.” There’s a ton of archived material there.

As to your question the only thing I’ve ever caught on eggs is skunks/grinners. I’m sure it will attract coyotes and I’ve seen hobby trapper show some impressive vids with foxes/eggs. If you have any number of non targets in your area eggs will be the ticket. There might be better options.

They work fine just as they are. Sometimes keeping things natural smelling is not a bad idea. When I used them in sets that went cold after a couple days after catching 6 or 8 coyotes,the holes got destroyed by coyotes trying to dig them out.Same with tainted groundhog meat.Drop in the hole and smash them down a couple times.

I would make a nice paste/liquid base out of it and use the meat material as an ingredient if you have enough. I would make a batch of just eggs and then a batch of the combined ingredients. Taint to desired levels. Thaz jus meh.
