I used vinegar to clean it off of some traps that I got that were dipped. I am convinced after playing with it that it is just floor wax so maybe if you got some floor stripper it would work too. Soaking them in vinegar and water works ok, too but you might need a small wire brush. If the floor stripper works, you should be able to just soak them and then spray them off.
