I have been Stinger fan for a few decades. Along the way I have had good and experience with other ammo. What does everyone else like?

CCI mini mag HP.
Not many others compare in accuracy
The secret to an accurate 22 is curing the barrel. What I mean is shooting the same ammo all the time. And not cleaning the bore. If you don't believe me try this.
Clean the bore and go to the range and shoot 50 rounds.the closer you get to 50 the tighter the group will get. By 100 it will be even better. And if it don't work PM me and I will replace your ammo. I've proved it to many times to be just luck
I should add this any applies to copper and brass washed ammo
Lead bullets will always foul a barrel

CCI mini mags hp x2
Ive killed um with um all,but them mini mags
Are head crackers, stingers Are good too but stopped hunting with them long ago, always liked um for frogs. Stingers I never got as much consistency out of. Ive used the fed and the remington big boxes they both work but dont compare to the CCI. Just zeroed in my rifle the other day and at 50 yards that rem golden bullet shot 3 inches lower then my cci and dont have the pop eaither! Push come to shove though any good bullet hp jacketed will be good for squrrels. Are season opens next week been out scouting this morning!!!!!! The next mounth will be squirrel breakfast dinner and supper Lord willing. It's the most wonderful time of the yr!!!!!!

For plinking anything cheap in the bulk box usually the Federal gold. For in the woods shooting squirrels been pretty much a Stinger fan since they first came out..I really only take head shots unless I'm using the pistol which I also load with the Stingers.
I will say though that since I bought my 17HMR I've shot most my squirrels with it. Just because it's fun to try to head shoot them out past 50yds..

CCI Mini-Mag. Both HP & Solid shoot very well for me. And since I only head shoot squirrels, doesn’t matter which ones I use.

Remington subsonic hollow points. No head shooting for me. Those heads are tasty and there is no meat on the ribs. Is that enough excuses for not being able to hit them in the head?

The best ammo for shooting squirrels with a .22 is whatever ammo is the most accurate out of that rifle. Any .22 rifle will shoot different ammo differently. So try all of them you can get your hands on out of your rifle. Zero the best ammo with a cold barrel. If the ammo that shoots best is not a hollow point and you want to shoot those you can hollow point them yourself.
I have a couple of rifles that shoot Wolf match target really good. Those do not come in hollow point being target ammo. I have a little tool that makes nice hollow points in them and those rounds make exceptional ammo out of those rifles. One of my rifles shoot CCI mini mags hp. just as accurate so that is what I shoot out of it.
Do a little testing and once you find the ammo that shoots best in your rifle buy several bricks of it. If you have a few squirrel rifles, Write down someplace what rifle uses which ammo lest you forget.
I too, shoot a .32 caplock rifle hunting squirrels at times. I built the chunk rifle back in 1976 and took quite a few squirrels with it until recently. The old eyes don't work with iron sight like they used to!

Depends on the rifle. My old Remington 581S likes CCI short hps.....the CZ Ultra Lux shots Federal Ultra Match the best.
Nobody can tell you which is best for your rifle...Identical rifles will usually prefer different ammo.

For the past 2 seasons I have used Eley Sub sonic hollow points. At the present time they have produced the best 5 shoot 50 yard group at .125. I like this ammo also as it makes a very small report which doesn't seem to bother every critter within a 100 yard area. I dislike this ammo because of some less than lethal head shoots it has produced.
I am currently shooting some Lapua Center X shells which I have good hopes for. I did shoot yesterday, there was a very slight intermittent breeze blowing from left to right, and after I got myself under control, I punched a .155 group. The Eley subs I always shoot when testing just for a control, they did not fair well at all yesterday in the breeze. The center X shells have a standard .22lr report but are a little pricey. I paid 12.99 per 50 of them a few months ago but stuck with a lot number and got the whole brick.

I second the dirty barrel comment made above. The owners manual that came with my Anschutz says to clean every "1000 shots or so".

The CCI's Have not preformed at near the level in my gun as the shells above. I can honestly tell you, I have tested probably 30 different .22 shells through my gun and for the money, through my gun, the federal 325 bulk pack ammo shoots pretty good. Not near the above numbers, and usually one flyer per 5 shots, but probably a solid .5" group at 50 yards. Never did measure one of the groups.

I agree with the dirty barrel too. I only swab my barrels if I start to get unexplained flyers or misses. If I clean the barrel I will fire 3 or 4 shots into the ground before hunting to foul the bore again. A clean bore does not shoot the same as a fouled bore. This matters a lot if shooting at small targets such as squirrel heads. Again. If you use a scope, check your scope zero with a cold barrel and a warm barrel. Most shots fired when hunting are from a cold barrel.

CCI sub sonic hollow points in my savage MK II mini mags in my Ruger Mark III target pistol. Hey Mike my 32 Cherokee is shooting great with 15 grains of swiss a .015 patch and a .310 ball with Hoppes patch lube. The 36 Seneca is doing good with .350 Ball 30 grains swiss and a .018 patch with Hoppes patch lube cant wait to take my first Black Powder squirrel.
