My first attempt at a mount. Still needs touchup and base, but turned out fairly well. Any thoughts?

Front legs look a little off but overall a good job especially for your first.

I never tried taxi.....But if I looked way back on my first paint job and body work .... ... You gotta start some where , Right. Keep that mount and then you can critique it in 20 years.. It’s a good time to practice with a down market. 10 years ago you’d have sold that otter for 150.00 off the board...lol.. Good Job...if it was easy, everyone would do their own mounts !

Wow. Tackling an otter for a first is brave! The face is tricky, and I have seen some really bad ones.
Yours is looking good. Nice job.

Made it almost 3 years without censor!

Thanks everyone. I think it turned out well considering the form was 5 inches too short and the head was way smaller than I needed. Unfortunately this was a large otter and the only form that fit was in an odd position. I have a mink I'm starting on Monday.

looks good for the first one. Keep at it you will improve and learn as you go. If you have a friendly taxidermist don't be afraid to go and pick their brain. Most are willing to help.
