Ok I pick up road kill under contact with a nearby city I rot all sorts of critters and stuff down for making baits/lures

I clean and sell skulls. What I'm getting at is I deal with some real gross smelling stuff

But this morning it finally happened I got sick to my stomach, and couldn't keep going at the lure make table. I was grinding a jar of mice that for some reason did not liquefy OH MY GOSH WAS IT GROSS

I
Hope them canines want to dig it up and roll in it!!

Bait and lure table welcomes all odors. The ripeness trims the nose hairs! I personally enjoy playing in the funk smile

So maybe the trick with mice is to grind them before they ripen????

got to try different techniques for different results. They are intended for a lure base I'm just after the juice that remains after total decomposition

That's exactly where I was trying to go Tony, has worked fine before. But this time not a one liquefied So I decided to "help".

Nope. Different smell too I'll see what becomes if it

Im not a 100 percent sure but I believe weather conditions play a major role in the end product. Mine are juicey as heck! Started out with3/4 of a gallon glass jug packed tight with mice. Now the volume of mice is a 1/4 by mass and 1/2 liquid! It does have a thick black oil on top , which is what I was shooting for. I think at this point im going to just leave it alone and see just what it does. Although I might pull off a few ounces of the black tar looking stuff and see the reaction it causes.

reminds me of a time I was drinking a Pepsi from the old bottles and a bundle of mouse sludge was suddenly caught in my mouth. Iv'e Been lucky that hasn't happened since, but then I did switch to coke.
As far as stink I think rotted snake is right up there with limburger cheese and porkeypine pee.

I think I would have stuck with pepsi, just because the odds of it happening again with the same soda seem slim. LOL

Over the years I've accidentally gotten everything from rotted down glands and some funky lure bases and oils, to skunk essence in my mouth and a few times, my eyes. I won't say I'm immune to the smells, but none of it bothers me much anymore. My wife, now that's a different story.LOL

Works well with glands, too.

the smell of ground mice versus whole rotted down ones is completely different. The ground ones are mild in nature compared to whole ones. I don't have any intentions on grinding these letting them go till its juice and bones
