Big cattle slaughter business, like Tyson and Excel have plants processing 10,000 head a week. They sell everything except some hair. Hair is left on the hides and sold to tanneries where it is disposed of. If they cant develop a market I doubt anyone can. Granted its not buffalo hair but I still doubt there is much interest.

If it's "wool" home spinners will buy it as long as it's reasonably clean, Then it's knitted into products.. Probably not a high volume enterprise, but someone will buy it. Needs to check out local spinner groups, craft forums, etc. X2 I used to work with a lady that home spun wool of all types then she left to start her own business that supplies spinners and also sell yarn I will stop in and ask her what she thinks Spinners are as diverse a group as trappers some just use wool other will try just about anything I have seen sweaters made out of dog hair, horse hair thistle fluff among others so I would say there should be a market for it if just for the noviltie

I’ve seen musk ox, llama and alpaca wool harvested for spinning. I don’t know exactly what buffalo is like but I’m sure it could be useable. Farmers use street sweeper brushes mounted vertically like posts in the pens to harvest it.
Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.

I bet there is a market for Bison wool at some of the Mountain Man Rendezvous, 1820 Events and Mule Skinner conventions. The historical reanactors buy that kind of stuff up.
If I was rich, I would buy a huge amount of land, have it very well fenced and have herds of bison, elk and a few moose roaming around, mostly just to look at.
Keith Funny you should say that. He said he mostly just enjoys sitting on his back porch watching them. I enjoyed watching them myself, listening to him talk about them.Impressive animal.
