how do you all care for your tanned fur to ensure no damage occurs from various bugs?

Cold storage is the best method, otherwise humidity controlled room.Never heard of or seen any bugs eating properly tanned fur here.If just a few pelts hanging at room temp is fine.Do not store in plastic or in a basement(high humidity).

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Good to know thanks. They are I my garage which has a.c. and heat via duct work. This weekend I pulled them out to show a buddy and had a bunch of fur all over the couch.

Keep out of direct or even indirect sunlight unless you want them to fade.

Moths can be a problem with tanned fur. They like to get in there and chew on the underfur. You give the pelt a shake and furnflies every where. LOL

Best option is to hang a couple of moth stripes in the room where the fur is displayed. Moth sticks don't bother most people but ones with naphthalene or parachloride (sp ?) can annoy some folks.
