I know that a lot of folks use chicken eggs of making a base/bait. I have used them but had better luck with goose eggs. the goose eggs seemed to have a sweeter smell than the chicken eggs.
here recently I bought 60 jumbo coturnix quail and I am loaded with quail eggs. has anyone ever tried them in place of the chicken or duck eggs? I think on average it is 5 quail eggs to equal 1 chicken egg. so before I get to cracking that many I thought I would ask yall.

if it walks swims or flies im after it

I've used bobwhite quail eggs. They have a higher yoke to white ratio than chicken eggs and smell a little different when done but seemed to work fine.

I used guinea eggs for my fermented egg base. Just because a buddy have them to me free. As SGS said high yoke to white ratio.

Freeze them in an ice cube tray and then fill a plastic container/or zip-lock bags.
Use them freshly thawed in a bird nest set, or visual in a pocket, dirt hole or cage set
It's Ok if it cracks when frozen as it will just give off more scent and as they are fresh and not rotted will last a long while at your set. Iv'e taken some mink, coon and a few fox with fake plastic eggs but with real ones a few more, and plenty more of skunk and opossum.
I do like the visual from broken egg shells and the odor from real eggs
