co has cut way back on lion tags. when I was a kid you could buy 2 over the counter. when my grandad was a young man they had a 50 dollar bounty on them. that kind of stuff didn't happen. they were afraid of humans. local school where my folks live had to have one killed awhile back. teachers saw it watching grade schoolers at recess. Colorado should change its name to new california

they have area quotas now adam. every year they get reduced. its not buy a tag turn dogs loose wherever you found cat sign anymore. they are losing their fear of humans. lot of bear problems also. no hounds and no bait for bear. no spring hunt. can only be hunted during deer/elk season. I believe the goal is to sell non residents high priced tags so if they happen to see one they can shoot it.

Speaking of turn the hounds loose where you find sign. When I was in high school I lived in the bootheel of NM and one of friends' dads had a contract with the game and fish to hunt and kill lions, due to them killing all the big horn sheep. You want to talk about a lot of fun for some teenagers with a bunch of good hounds and horses.
