I am really struggling here. Our public land in my area is ok to trap and hunt, just ok, but doesn't hold a lot of squirrels. I have this new pup and need more areas to hunt and trap. I'm striking out mainly due to Leasers or it's like I'm selling rainbow vacuum cleaners lol. So do y'all think making up cards might help? Any other things you can think of? Thanks.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I'd look into doing some skunk, possum, groundhog removal in exchange for hunting maybe!

The owners that lease said that it's in the lease nobody else can hunt or trap. I actually want groundhogs, coon, squirrels and all the other critters. Used to be I had more land than I knew what to do with. I need to try something different I guess.

Cards help. I just went back to a small engine guy I used 2 years ago to thank him for the all the referrals. He pointed to the wall and had my card stapled to it. haha. That and small town coffee shops in the early morning hours. Find the local hang-out for the morning coffee and you're golden.

Yes they help. I got a lot of my permissions by being persistent and professional.

I use cards. Cards just show a level of professionalism. They're handy. I have folks ask for them. I even offer cards when I get a no, cause people change their minds. Just gotta be patient and persistent. I've gone back to properties I was told no on, and they'd had a change of heart. Renters can be insistent that they have exclusive use of a property, but renters come and go. Even most landowners who say yes appreciate having your name and number handy. Make it easier to say yes. They don't have to remember your name or write anything down. I make a point of making my better landowners somewhat my friends when I can. They are doing me a favor, and I am doing them one also I hope. But the reality is, most landowners don't see the animals you're after and aren't bothered with most. So I stop by during the off-season to say howdy. To give a bag of pecans, a flat of strawberries, small things like that from my yard and garden. Tokens of true appreciation are what get you known and appreciated in the area you'll be trapping. That's my experience anyways.

Hey, that cat was grey, no collar, and shouldn't have been up that tree anyway. Ok, so what should I put on the cards, maybe a pic of my pup to win them over lol.

Keep your card simple. Make sure it's big enough to read.
One thing I will say is, because I'm not from the area I trap in, I wasn't known. So folks wanted to know where I lived. I think I would put my town at least on the card. Full address is something each individual would need to decide for themselves. But for sure people are interested in where you're from (living), at least in the areas I trap. I've actually had several of my landowners stop by my house. Some just to say hi, cause I stop by theirs. Some to see where it is, and what it is I'm doing with the animals I catch off their place. Best thing that could happen in each instance.

I believe the card gives the landowner comfort in knowing your not a hit and run and screw up to never be seen again!

I have a red fox on mine. I also include my email address.
I think they work, I’ve had land owners give my card out to other people.
