Any thoughts or experience, better yet thoughts and experience using this 7 1/2 inch wire stretcher in place of a 7 1/2 board stretcher? Keep in mind this is Ohio, for the most part we don't have a high quality or really large coon as compared to some parts of the country. Been using wood for years, getting bit tired of the extra time and work involved getting their hide fastened to the stretcher. Then there is the wedges and extra drying time.

I would stick with the wood. I got #32 for skunk and opossum. I live in the corn belt and coon is larger here.

I always have trouble keepin the hides stuck to the toothed slides or thdy slip up and wont stay tight. I have been converting wire stretchers to wood bottoms like it much better
