The new NCAA rules say he can't be contacted by the coaches prior to July entering his Junior year. He has gone to a few combines/camps and got positive feedback so who knows what may or may not happen.

Wow, he's a big boy for only a sophomore. Looks good for that weight. He will be getting some D-1 offers.

A bunch of schools around here are eliminating Varsity Football due to lack of players and injury potentials.

Ahhh nothing better than high school football. Enjoy the ride, it goes way too fast. My son was 6'8", 225# but quit football for basketball only.

Do you guys play North Alleghaney? Just curious as my son graduated college this year (another fast 4 years) and lives next to their head coach and we may catch a couple of games over there in PA.

Football is top dog in my neck of the woods, 14 state championships. If you aren't at the game on Friday you are in the minority. People line up hours before the gate is opened for high school football, hard to believe but its just that dang good. Not much else to do out in the country.

CaptGus, Our local school is just a small single A team. About 60 kids in a graduating class. No we don't play North Allegheny.

Bic, sounds like about the size of the school I went to. There were 52 in my class in 1963. We never had football, but about 15 years ago they went co-op with a neighboring school. The school I went to has had a lot of success in recent years in their sports program for both boys and girls. The school they do the co-op thing is really small too. The football team must compete in AA because of the combined enrollment.

Nittany, with the way the numbers are dropping in our football program, I would not be surprised if our school ends up in a Co-op with a Double A school 20 minutes away. They are a small enough 2A school that our enrollment numbers won't bump them into triple A. Luckily, My boy played against that team for several years when he was younger so they know him well. He would fit into their program easily if that's what ends up happening.

Bic coaches can't contact you, but there are no rules saying you cannot make videos of him and send that with an intro out to those coaches. You cannot get him on their radar screen soon enough if he has that kind of size, and some ability.

The co-op thing is really a good idea, I wish it would have been that way when I attended school. The school I went to (Greenwood) as soccer and track that the other school (Newport) participates in, Newport has football and wrestling that students from Greenwood can participate in. The football team and both boys and girls track teams have really done well the past few years. Each school does field their own basketball, baseball, field hockey and softball teams.

Nikolas, There are advantages to every different body style. When it's time to run hills or do hit-its or run 100 yd sprints, he wishes he was your size. Take whatever God gave you and work with it.
