Have any of you had like little mini panic attacks. A buddy of mine gets these or something like them, it will only happen when it's quiet and there is people around. I will give you the description he gives me. He starts feeling light headed, feels sick, feels like he has trouble breathing, and he has trouble swallowing. But as soon as he starts moving around he feels fine.has this happened to anyone.

I have a girl at work that does this as well, I don't know about the sick feelings but she get where she cant breather cry's and freaks out.. She has to leave and go out side get fresh air sometimes that helps sometimes it doesn't. She get it when she is overwhelmed or if have more people in the department then most times, she says she feels like everything is closing in on her. Serious thing man kinda scary

Howdy

Ive had these attacks for 20 years. They are caused by a overworked or shot adrenal gland(s). I overused my asthma inhaler as a young man, and this is the result. Having said that, I know similar attacks are caused by a thyroid out of control. Your pal needs to have some blood work done. Hope it turns out ok.

I had them for 15 years when I was younger.
I would feel like the walls were closing in if I got in a group of people where I got into a situation where I thought I couldn't leave. Felt like everyone was looking at me and I would start to sweat and heart would race. Had to leave sometimes to catch me breath. Was not a lot of fun. Doctor would say he can't find anything wrong. Finally convince a doctor that something was wrong with me and he gave me a low dose of anxiety meds. Since then have not had anything near as bad as that. Been on the pills for 10 years maybe with no side effects. Feel great now. Good luck.

My ex-wife suffered from these for years and they eventually diminished. Some of hers were so severe she thought she was having a heart attack. She went improperly diagnosed and then was given Paxil for years. Her's I think were brought on by work.

I've heard in addition to Rx meds a lot of natural relaxation styles can help, yoga, wine, wacky weed and there's lot of nutritional options such as St. John's Wort. Someone else I know had a kid who started to have them and they enrolled him in martial arts and after a few months he stopped having them. He started up a year or two later when he stopped going to his martial arts class but soon after returning they stopped. Now he's a black belt and is a well rounded young man.

Not sure about panic attacks but I have ptsd. I'm still not over it or getting much better but good meds do keep it CONTROLLABLE also talking about things with another person with it has helped a lot to. I have night terrors I don't sleep many hours and I have what my wife called snaps where the whole world is my enemy and I say and do thing out of my control. Once I come back from the blackout I find all the things I did and said and start the apologies.

Panic attacks are horrible. I've had them for years. I've been on all sorts of medications, some helped, some didn't, most made me feel like a zombie. I still take Xanax when I feel something coming on or have to do something that will likely bring one on. My biggest trigger is traveling. I can't get more than about an hour from home without freaking out. I haven't been that far from home in about 5 years. I get the rapid pulse, shortness of air, sweaty palms and just feeling that I can't stay where I am any longer. Going home is the only thing that helps. Sometimes I have them when I am home, then NOTHING helps. I've been through several different kinds of therapy, some helped to some degree, but I still have the problem. I'm thinking of trying hypnosis next.
