I used a hypodermic needle to draw the essence out of the scent glands of several skunks I caught some years ago. I use the scent as a cover scent during deer season and for fisher trapping. I just put mine in a small sealed glass bottle. I thought I would maybe have to store it in the refrigerator. But, my wife didn't think that was a good idea. So, I stored it in my gun cabinet. I didn't add any preservatives or anything and it was fine for quite a few years.
I'm out and need more. Does any of the vendors on here sell it?

skunk juice eats syringes. they are cheap just buy more. old liquor bottles with plastic caps work best for storage. skunk juice will eat a metal lid pretty quick. few months they are a rusty wreck. plastic liquor bottle lids will last a long time.

Yep get as much of the essence out of the syringe as you can it might be ok if used sooner then later pull the piston back a bit no need to be forward all of the way,if it's sticky get another syringe if you lose $10 worth of juice trying to save money on a .50 syringe it's bad business! If the essence sits on the black piston of the syringe it will melt it putting black rubber into your essence lowering the quality of it.
For just storage us a metal or plastic lid for shipping pure quill use a metal lid then as it will melt plastic over time a paper or foil lined cap will last longer when in DIRECT contact with pure quill!
My choice is 4oz Boston round bottles with metal lids and liners of paper or foil for storage and shipping, don't put all your quill in one bottle bad move you drop it you lose it all, you handle it like that it's like teargas pouring large amounts and it will make you suffer for nothing. LOL
Be prepared to stink if you really think you won't smell skunky then good luck, you won't smell it but others will so consider job and family issues before you dive into it.

not having to deal with nontrapping riff raff more than a few seconds at a time is a #1 reason to dab a little behind your ears every morning.
