Lazarus aka tracy Truman has the real deal, straight ground gall fruit, where all the attraction comes from. It's the best stuff going, he's even got the videos to back it up.

Just a word to the wise . . . even if you don't buy from me, I would highly encourage you to go to my website and under the "FAQ" button, there is a document on frequently asked questions about silver vine and directions for use. It will help you avoid some of the common mistakes in usage.

Good info Thanks that's why the pods seemed like the best route not knowing if you did the grinding so both routes seem safe then.

Looked close at the Cloud 9 stuff that I bought on Amazon and it has some lighter bigger stuff mixed in with the darker powder am guess that might be stems/leaves maybe?

Well, if you start slobbering, meowing and rolling on the floor, let me know and we'll give Starbucks a run for their money. You might be on to something there!

I tried to order some from amazon. They just called me and told me it’s prohibited in Canada....... guess I won’t be trying it on the northern kitties. Amazon stuff looks to be junk and a 1X use amount, get the real stuff from a place you trust!

I've been trying to educate myself on it and learned not to use the usual mediums I would to tincture other things and that I couldn't use it in my cat lure with the glycerine binder and antifreeze. From what I've learned, I'm better off using it mixed with a small amount of olive oil, or petroleum jelly. I know a lot of people do, but I've never really cared for pet jelly, so I thought olive oil would be the way to go. Researching olive oils led me to the fact that they can freeze at around 35*, or just a little lower. In 90% of my trapping, the nighttime temps are from a little, to way below that, so I guess I'm back to pet jelly. I thought about using olive oil as a replacement for the glycerine in my cat gland lure at one point, but obviously that's out, now. Unless somebody has another idea that they'd be willing to share, I guess I'm going to be experimenting with it as a rub lure in pet jelly and sprinkling a little powder at other sets. Law dog had mentioned using it in bags at one point and I like that idea too, thanks again LD. I'm looking forward to experimenting with some castor and aged rat glands in combination with SV as a rub lure and I have some other things in mind to try too, but my original ideas are pretty much off the table, at least for the time being.

My old grinder was on it's last leg "a 80s food processor" tried the second grind but the head was so hot it cooked some of the dust around the blade into "bakelite" locked it up on the second go a round. LOL
No biggie I just need to get another transfer arm part a dime a dozen on Ebay or Amazon has them maybe as I don't do Ebay any more. Don't see it eating grinders mine was junk and I knew it was going to pop it was repined once already guessing that shear pin forgot to shear. Oh well
Seen 3 of the wife's cats hanging around the trap shed so I tossed the empty ice cream bucket in their direction and they started to rub their faces on the bucket with just a little dust in it, very encouraging!

Odiferous: You might try some Forever from O'Gorman. Its like a super thin petroleum gel. In warm weather its like mineral oil; in cold weather it gels up, but nothing like Petroleum gel. If you cut it with olive oil, you could probably get nearly identical to glycerin as far as freeze proof and consistency. Try some pure ground castor (no glycol or glycerin added to it), some SV and just enough olive oil to make a thick paste. Freezing temps won't hurt it and it works great.
Law Dog: Pay close attention to those cats!!!! You have the luxury of having three willing (OK, maybe "available" is a better word) test subjects right at your door. Their reaction will be very much what you see from spotted cats. Just make sure you give them an hour or more between testing because they will need to clear their systems so you get a valid appraisal of whatever new concoction you put in front of them. Lazarus, I really appreciate you sharing that info with me, a lot of people wouldn't. I'll definitely give it a try and thanks again.

Let us know how it goes Lawdog. Interesting topic.. I've considered getting some and mixing with Olive oil ^ good info thanks. kinda make a smear paste of it. I have a Half feral cat that hangs in my Backyard at times .. I tested some rub lure on him the other day. He didnt spend much time investigating, but did go right to it. Them cats went from sniffing the pail to rubbing their cheeks all in 1 swift move they did not do it long but they did it! The only thing in the pail was residue after I poured the grindings into a 1/2 gallon ball jar a tapped on it a bit so it did not have much in it but dust.

Well the grinder shaft/arm was toast but the blender attachment will work without that arm it makes a little dust but gets most of it to a fine powder I ran the batch through 2X in the blender and 1X through the grinder to start. I put that "arm" out on a old stock tank I use for the chicken chicks did not think much about it. I was working on some sweet skunk and seen a cat next to it I get a jar and head back and it's rubbing on the arm so I mix my skunk pods and put the jar back behind the shed and another one is rubbing a Siamese a totally different cat. Camera was in the house so I walked over and put that arm I used to grind the gall with and set it down on the porch, boom 2 other cats walk up and rub on the arm. It had dust on it and not much of that even. LOL

Showered last night, podded a skunk handled some sweet skunk, washed my hands a dozen times and still can detect the silver vine odor on my hands still so it's long lasting, ground up about 80% of the pound left the rest as whole galls for later to grind.
