What is this? I found it on the property tonight, along a stream. It's not buckthorn. The berries are much smaller, & the leaves are longer & pointed. It's kind of like a cross between a bush & tree. Thanks

There used to be a lot more of it around here. My mother made jelly from it and my brother sold it to a guy who had a buyer that came by his place a couple times a week.

Dont see much around here anymore—use to grow along the streams and my Grandmother made jelly. Nice jelly.

I cook them stem and all then strain and continue cooking them down.

They are thick here this year if you can get them before the starlings do. Just finished a batch of jelly yesterday.
