Thanks - the guy at Scheels sporting goods talks them up - but he is a salesman. Says if they sell ten crossbows - nine of them are Ravins. He does not talk poorly of the excaliburs, but thinks they market more

Do you have a true comparison though? Do you have a tenpoint stealth or shadow nxt? Same basic looks.

I bought an excalibur for my wife 2 years ago. It is nice because I could set it before I went to work and she could hunt with it all day with now worry about the limbs. Uncocking it is a bear. But I still wanted one for me. Last year I went to get one and was introduced to the Ravin. Ended up buying the R9. Love it. I tried mechanicals with it. They went through so fast they did little damage and left no blood trail. I did find the dear about 100 yards away. Switched to fixed blades this year. They now sell lighted knocks for them now but they want $50 for three. So I will wait for an aftermarket. Haven't shot the ten point

My ten point is about 7 years old not sure on model it does have the cocking mechanism on it I liked it a lot also shot many deer with it then I bought the Raven it is lighter much nicer to walk through the woods with and more comfortable in the stand love the scope loved the cocking mechanism . not saying there are better ones out there just handled the raven and bought it did not shop around. no regrets yet
