This was from and ad in a 1906 edition of a farm catalogue. Sit on your horse on top of a ridge, look out across the country and tell me there is no God.

Google images of post vise. You're missing the part that bolts to the bench. If you're not missing anything else I've seen new ones for sale on ebay. Or you could make one from plate steel.
