Just saw that on the news not really sure how to take it.

Oh, I know how to take it. It should have been done years ago like a lot of other states have already done. Not surprised that the liberal demorats are trying to make it a hot button to get their voter base to the polls.

It's about time they put it on the ballot.

I sure hope it does pass but I can not help but remember that NC voted for BO not once but twice. And we are being invaded by foreigners at an alarming rate. Common sense is not very common here anymore!

Well, this is what I was referring too. Going to a vote might not turn out for the best. I hope it does but could be a bad thing also.

THis will be the third try. Most stuff passes on the third try. Folks get use to it and tired of fighting it.

Not to change the subject, but NC has more or less been a blue state until recently. I believe the party of the donkey went from left field to outer space!! As like all other states the urban areas are the problem. Over in Asheville they'll have a Moral Monday rally on Saturday, then a Go Topless rally on Sunday??. I have run ins with tree huggers about every deer season around here. Last season I had a woman tell me she couldn't believe they allow hunters where people hike. I politely informed her she is welcome to go somewhere else! But I truly hope this bill passes!! I'm sure Roy will try to shoot it down.

I need to go back and reread it.. as it was originally written it essentially protected the ability to run hounds by forever cementing it into the law. I didn't agree with that as the time is quickly coming to where it will be even more of an issue. The practice isn't my preference but my greater issue is with those that tend to participate are less and less law abiding in my observations. As lease prices rise they are concentrating more and more on public lands and cleaning out the game. However, private blocks around farms are very abundant creating voids were "some" deer filter in, but not for long. As soon as the tailgates drop, the deer start moving into private properties and inside the farms where they are later shot for crop depredation. I live on the edge of a game land that spreads into 3 counties. The game land has the lowest concentration of all game in the area. I don't even bother trapping it because fox and coon are scarce. I gave up deer hunting it after rifle opened years ago.

When Idaho passed a similar law, it specifically included trapping. Hunting, fishing and trapping. Harvesting wildlife sort of covers trapping but some hot shot lawyer could probably find a loophole to exclude trapping.

With all the battles raging about recreational?commercial fishing going on I wondered if this wasnt an effrort to protect some comm gears that are being used? gill nets and trawling.

Yeah, Croatan stinks for hunting, I had a good bow season this last year though, maybe not kill wise but seeing some big bucks and just quite a few deer. Seen biggest buck I have seen anywhere in a long time this past season, and early too. Most time dont see deer til edge of dark these deer moved way early! hoping for a repeat this year. And gonna try to have a BP gun ready to roll, could get the finicky gun like I wanted it last season.
