The people. Only the people... for me.
I can order my supplies and have them delivered to my door for far less than it would cost me to drive to any convention that would have on hand all the supplies I want.
Demos... well once you know how to trap and have seen a few... if there's anyone touting a new method I'm interested in, I'll buy the book... I learn better by reading than by peering at what someone's doing a hundred yards away anyways.
So it boils down to people.... of 2 types. #1... people I know and want to see. Friends, in other words. That's the main reason I go to any convention. And #2.... financially supporting an association I feel has gone above and beyond. If a state assn makes the effort to really be spectacular, I'll gladly drive 6 hours to support them over lackluster, more local associations.

its the other people who attend. I go to work im the only guy there who traps. trapping conventions are kinda like camping in some remote place to trap only crowded. it recharges batteries. only crowd I ever been in I enjoy
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

The people make or break a convention. Distance now also makes a difference as well.
Some individuals use statistics as a drunk man uses lamp-posts — for support rather than for illumination.
