It seems Montana took a real gutsy stand on the issue...not. Sadly my birthplace is becoming the new California at an accelerated rate.

^ Montana is an unfriendly run, tree hugging outdoor state there is no arguing about that.

Its crazy how our society have let the courts examine and rule on every aspect of life... That was not the intent when they designed courts... What does some Federal Judge know about Grizzlies or what is a hunt-able population?... Of course if the F and G estimates great Yellowstone Grizzly Populations at over 800... the truth is its probably closer to 1600 or 2400... They use way way fuzzy math for their estimates..Now they put it in the hands of a Federal Judge that probably can't identify a gold fish instead of the people that are so call wildlife experts. Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks are very very anti hunter in my opinion...They have become more like carnival barkers trying to squeeze every last nickle out of us with none of the raise in fees helping the hunter. Not just in Montana... Are there good guys in those departments? Absolutely. Are they getting fewer and fewer? Absolutely. A presently employed good guy will be hard pressed if he shares his opinion publicly ,could cost him his job. Talk to the retired ones, (and I have) they'll pretty much confirm your perceptions on how things work in those departments. I've said this 100 times and I'll say it again... Unfortunately, there is no prerequisite that you have pro-hunting view points to land jobs in such divisions of wildlife. Degrees and some work experience will suffice. The anti's have figured out long ago how to get there agenda passed along. Infiltrate it from the inside!

Well said above. At this point it's grizzlybears, polar bears, wolves, and a few others management superceded by unqualified judges using political pressure and emotion as evidence. This is becoming more widespread and accepted just as so much other supposed science. With every victory like this that antis win the more it emboldens, next will be elk, deer, antelope, on down to birds. Nothing to hunt no need for guns right? We have discussed it many times here. We think of the upcoming season, Antis think loooong term goals. Accomplishing those goals thru a complicate and growing judiciary seems very doable.
In Minnesota there are federal trappers eliminating wolves in overpopulated areas, there is a federal department with enlisted shooters killing overpopulated deer during the wee night hours in the suburbs and heart of Minneapolis proper. You would be shocked at how many US cities have night shooters killing deer in back yards. Will the government start shooting overpopulated grizzlies in the night? This is the new norm?
