We were very dry from early May until late June. We have had a tad over 9 inches over the last 9-10 days so water is not an issue now. Early crops like lettuce, peas, radishes, spinach etc. did poorly with hot and dry weather. Now all is really growing, so later peas, beans, zuccs, cucs, brocolli etc. are doing very well. Corn is setting ears, tomatoes have double in size the last two weeks and peppers are growing well.
The April blizzard really hurt our strawberries, raspberries and asparagus. All are about off over 50% with a lot of plants totally lost.

Glad you finally got rain, I save about 90 gallons of rain water for hot dry weather

I haven't had a tomato or pepper year quite like this one in quite a while. Hungarian yellow wax peppers, just one of the many varieties I have growing. I have picked and put up all the ripe tomatoes or have them ripening in the house.

Moor Gold squash, slightly larger than buttercup. Does anyone else grow them ?

I just had my first 40 degree night last night. I pick my squash before I get too many of those.
