My brother found a way to prevent hair from slipping (green-belly) if you plan on tanning you hides. Last year he was tanning a bobcat and the hair started slipping badly. He put it on a wire stretcher and let it dry for several weeks, then tried it again. The hair didn't slip then! What do y'all think about it?

Stop Rot has been around for years.

I have heard of stop rot.What is the chemical formulae.

I do not know that but I am sure Mckenzie or Van Dykes might have the answer to your question.

Why do you think that the micro biologist that spent years formulating Stop Rot is going to make public his formula?I promise you,if McKenzie even knows,they aren't going to give out any information on how it's put together.Now questions on how to use it,that's a different story.

You might be able to wrangle an MSDS out of them for stop-rot.

Probably right Taximan. I find myself sharing less info these days other than my inner circle.

Its just a bacteriacide.Bleach,dettol,iodine or such diluted enough so the alkali doesn't destroy the keratin.It may stop the rot,but it cant reverse it.

Just make sure you dont buy Stop Slip...different product and different usage.
