Saw my dr this morning he wants me to mayo clinic similar facility. I really don't want to go to Arizona, way too hot even in winter. But if I have to I will be on the next flight out. What are other good facilities like Mayo clinic? I ask because either way the insurance will need to authorize it first. If I go to the Minn one will someone take me on their line?

Looks like there's a lot of top pain management hospitals all over the country but Mayo is on only one top list. Still trying to bring myself to tell my kids.

Keep in mind that you will have plenty of time on your hands at the Mayo, they are experts at keeping you waiting. Been there, done that! Would welcome you to join me on my line but I'm 5 hours from there. Best of luck!

Thanks guys. I'll be happy if I can do half the stuff I used to before this all started. It was humbling to dig an 18" deep post hole which took 1.5-2 hours time in soft dirt. Had to stop several times because of the pain. When I had to replace the mailbox. Overall nearly 1.5 days to do. Source taken 2 hours tops. Good to know 20scout. It's really up to my insurance where I go. Talked to that Mayo clinic and they weren't sure if my insurance would cover it. So I gotta keep looking for another Mayo or another facility elsewhere.
My kids had mixed emotions about the news.

Mayo Clinic is the place to go! Never seen such kind and professional Dr. and nurses in my life when they were trying to help me with my pain and paralysis issues.

If you end up at Mayo in MN I'd be glad to take you for a trapping ride along! Mayo is top notch so hopefully your insurance gives you the green light for them. Wishing you the best!

i haven't been on here in a few months and trying to play catch up. my wife just recently spent a week at Mayo in MN for testing. great facilities. If your insurance will cover it, i highly recommend. Praying that you will find help where ever you end up.

If you go north, University of Minnesota hospitals. Where do you think Mayo doctors come from?

I can attest to some amazing stories from both the Rochester mayo clinic and the University of Minnesota, but we're pretty far from home. I would expect the same caliber of care from the mayo clinics in AZ.
Throughout your entire life, you will never see the same sky twice.
