The nine and four year old, girl, grand kids, spent the night, last night. They wanted to sleep in the tent. They also wanted to go to Waffle House for supper. We got the tent set up and then went and ate. It got to be about 8:30 and was pretty dark so we decided it was bed time. We all went to bed but the girls could not sleep. You never heard such giggling and laughing. I bet it took them a half hour to calm down. Even when they got kind of quiet they were whispering and and giggling under their breath. It was a very good time. The littlest one said, “Man, look at all the stars”. I didn't get up until 5:30 this morning. The girls are still out, in the tent, in the backyard, sleeping. I think, no, I know, I sleep better in the tent than I do in my own bed. It is very relaxing listening to the frogs and all the night sounds.

Brings back memories. It was a lot more fun as a kid then now at my age. LOL Back country tenting is fine for a few days but then I miss the warm house and good bed.
Have fun!

The one thing you're missing is a dog with a ice cold wet nose to poke it's head into the girl's sleeping bags to get them fired up early ha ha I've been blessed with dogs that all were big ole snuggle bunnies so it was a given that I'd send in the dog to wake my daughter's up back in the day.

Definitely agree! I've been sleeping in my hammock in the barn on and off the past couple weeks and since there has been a lot of rain lately I sleep like a log. I can sleep ten times better in my hammock in the rain than I can in my bed...provided I have a hole free tarp.

Yes, that does bring back memories but now days if I sleep on the ground, I hurt for two days afterwards!

That’s awesome! We slept in the tent with all the kids earlier this summer. It’s a lot of fun!
Cold as ice!
