Was there a trap called Schmidt? I found a trap at a flea market that is marked Schimidt plus other letters I can’t make out on top of spring. Also the number 4. Its a single long spring. Will get pictures next Wednesday since I’m on vacation. Thanks Kevin

Here is what my son came up with on the spring. Schmidts Nollenhct? Not sure though.

You have a nice hand forged trap there, I doubt very much it's from Europe.
