I went grouse hunting today and picked up 3 of the foil type balloons. I seem to find several every year. I don't live in a well populated area and I was way back in the woods today so I am wondering how many are lost every year and is this happening everywhere or just in northern Idaho?

A gift from Cali riding the air currents? LOL During WWII Japan sent those hot air kite bombs to the US using the airstream.

I get so sick of those things! Pick them up constantly. Recently saw three while fishing lake Erie.

Those mylar balloons seem to be occasionally scattered in every field or woods I go to.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

The mind boggles. Climate change environmentalists think nothing about group littering with balloons Yes you find them everywhere. A few every year in every field.

Found a regular ballon one time that had a tag,had a young girls name and address and she asked if you found the ballon to please let her know how far it made it.i think it was a school project and they were looking for pen pals.the ballon was from Ontario and I live in the southern Adirondacks.ive always regretted not contacting her.

I live in the middle of nowhere. 3/4 mile long driveway, over a mile to the nearest neighbor, as the crow flies. Several years ago, my redbone coon hound pup started baying treed in the yard, lol. Ran outside, rifle in hand, to find her baying a mylar balloon tangled in the top of one of the trees in the woods line, lol.

When I was in 3rd grade in St. Louis our class wrote notes with our address and attached them to helium balloons for a project. I can't remember where mine made it to but it was a couple states away at least.

The quantity of those mylar things sold in the world would stagger the imagination. Guess I'm lucky here... I've never found one.

Pete
