It's all about this trailer my daughter bought In Alaska.
Home made cheap but well built. NO bed so I added that. So know we get to the hubs and wheels.
We want to put new rubber on so I'm trying to get the lug nuts off. I'm on there with the lug wrench and I can't break them loose. I get a cheater and I still can't get them off. Righty tighty lefty loosey right. Wrong the right side of the trailer has left hand threaded nuts and the left hand side has right hand threaded nuts. The hubs where scavenged off of some type of car. Never heard of anything like that before. Thoughts

Why didn't you just turn the trailer around the other way then the nuts would turn the other direction?

The end of the studs should be marked L and R. Seen it a few times but don't know what they came from or where.
Wish I had more time to trap....

Are there notches cut on the left hand threaded nuts? Sounds like the hubs are military in origin.

Sounds like an old wagon , which tightened the axle nuts as the wheel turned forward. Lol.

I have a utility trailer that was given to me by a neighbor about 30 years ago. It has left handed threads on both sides. You just have to remember when it it time to pull a tire what you have. Kind of a pain in the butt.

Yep Mopar was doing that in the 70's. They got them on the wrong side though LOL. Like was said the studs were stamped on the end.

Thanks guys. When I get back to Alaska next year I'll have to look at the stud ends for those markings.

I had a 72 dodge as I recall had one side left thread? My brother built a trailer with wheels scavenged off an Opal. Seem to me that had one side lefty too?
