Anyhow Forest County will be have its annual Trappers Day on Sept 29th from 8-2 or whenever we get done.
I know it is the first day of Pa bow season. (Sorry guys) they opened the season a week earlier this year and I think the same will be next year.
Anyhow demo's all day. Not have a lot to eat this time, lost out on $$$$ the past couple years, besides we come to learn and rekindle old friendships and talk trapping not eat. LOL

Been to a couple of your Trapper Days in the past . For you people that live in the region, it is worth it to attend. Plus it is located in the beautiful Allegheny National Forest and as the the title says it is in Forest County, a very pretty forested area.

This is my 16th year of hosting my trappers day.
I wanted a day like I use to attend back years ago at a trappers supply house before I joined the Marines. That fellow past away years ago now. I just remembered the fun and information I gathered back then. And sitting back and listening to the old times talk about trapping and different methods they used for whatever critter they were trapping. Now I'm one of those old timers (LOL) sort of. I feel the need and responsibility to pass on the things I have learned to someone who might actually be listening as I was years ago.
It is also a place and time to get with my friends from the past and catch on things. And who knows maybe even talk trapping.
The event is free to everyone, if you want to learn or brush up on things you are more than welcome. If you have something you would like to pass on to others we are all ears.
Thank you Grandpa Trapper for you kind words. You are correct, it is called Forest County for a reason.

I also don’t think there is a traffic light in the entire county which tells you something.

Where is the event? I have a camp not far from West Hickory.

Your close. The last time I attended, I believe it was in Endeavor on rt. 666 just up the road from rt. 62. Don’t know where Jim is having it this year.

I fish just upstream from Endeavor pretty often.
How long does it usually last? My sons are going to be home for opening morning of archery season and I don't want to miss that, But I could make it to Endeavor by noon after the hunt and then spend a couple days at camp.

I think its at the Endeavor Community building too. Theres usually a few signs out for it but I haven't noticed any yet.

Yes it is once again in Endeavor Community building. 1 mile up rt 666. Once you get within 7 miles of this place the signs will be up everywhere. Signs in Tionesta, West Hickory Bridge, Tidioute Bridge and Rt 62 And of course on Rt666 showing you all the way here. It usually lasts about 6 hrs unless guys have more they want to see or talk about. Put out signs Friday night and Sat. Will be out Friday night putting up directional signs. Google address is 17457 hwy 666 endeavor Pa 16322. GPS doesn't always work with rt 666. My cell # is 814-493 7937. If your text doesn't work call me. Home # 814 463 3760 if I am out of range. Got a lot of driving to do this week. Delivering lumber all over the state to high school wood shops. Leaving tomorrow to go over to Allentown area. 5 Hr drive one way. Sorry if I don't get back to anyone tomorrow, I have to take a load of lumber over to the Scranton Area tomorrow.

I put out most of my direction signs tonight after work cause I'm not sure if I'll be home tomorrow night nor do I know what time Friday night. Worked till 7 tonight getting lumber on the truck for tomorrows deliveries. Then put up signs till 9:30. Time for bed, hitting the road at 5:00 in hopes of getting done tomorrow and not having to spend the night over on the other side of the state.

For those who attended thank you. I hope you all had a good time. I hope some of you even learned something new. I am going to take a nap and then go out and take down the trappers day signs. I had a good time putting on another trapper day under my belt. We had a pretty good turn out. Think we had about 75 to 100 folks throughout the day.
