Whats everyone put in both holes? LOL, lets not take that out of context...

I never just dig one hole, always 2 or more. Different sizes, different angles' Bait in one lure in one of the others the rest blank..

I put at times 2 different baits. Then lure between the 2 holes with a shot of urine.

Lure down one and bait down the other. Sometimes urine depending on how many deer are around.

Oh the possibilities with a double dirthole.
One big hole, one small hole, one straight down other at a low angle. Or two little holes, or two big holes, lots of possible combos that cause a lot of animal foot shifting around in the dirt pattern to check them out.
One with bait, other with lure or urine, or combo of baits. Leave one blank, too, or put some nonsmelly thing in it like a feather or bone.

exactly, make 1 hole larger sometimes, or a mouse hole other times

change the distance tween the holes, up to 24" and put trap between them

its all about getting them to shuffle their feet while investigating!...subtle guiding, too.

I find that 2 food lures are good.

This will be my 1st year at Dirtholes. I have been hammerin the Coyotes with Snares for years. I will still use my Snares but have picked up some Beautiful Coyote Land to use Dirtholes and this Post is helping alot. I do have alot of Lures and just picked up 14 Jake Traps plus I have a bunch of Dogless Monty's. So I am excited to say the least.

Well it depends on what I am setting for.

If I set an otter toilet high and dry this is my go to set. I like the holes big and showy and about 18 inches apart with the trap set right in between the holes. I use feathers down the holes. I usually use a squirt of fish oil in one and Otter Lure Supreme down the other but honestly it seems to work about as good for otter with no scent and just the eye appeal of the holes and feathers.

For cats I make more of the standard double dirt hole but with a flashy pattern and feathers and use two different lures in each whole and a shot of urine between the holes on the backing, or one hole lured, or no hole lured and just urine on the backing, etc. Easy to have variety with this set.

I was bedding some traps yesterday to knock some rust off the tools and me. I made a one hole double hole. This is what it looked like.
