All American, anything else is just wanting to be All American. You get what you pay for. They are not cheap but you won't find a better one. I would get at least this size and you should be able to find it cheaper than on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/All-American-2-Quart-Pressure-Cooker/dp/B00004S88Z/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537790446&sr=8-1&keywords=all+american+pressure+canner

If you are going to do much meat canning, I recommend you go bigger. Meat is a long cycle time and the added capacity will save you time every time you use it. I have the 30 quart model that holds 19 standard regular mouth pint jars or 14 standard regular mouth quart jars per run. Meat is typically a 90 minute at pressure cycle plus heat up and cool down. That will put you at roughly 2 1/2 hours per batch. I would much rather run one batch and be done than 2 smaller ones. The 30 qt. is not that much more than the 21.5 qt. All American 930 Canner

I have a Presto/National I have used since my Bride and I got together back in the 70's. Its a 7 qt/14+ pt size. Get a bigger-than-you-think size, it will save you MUCH time and work.

I have wondered for years, what with all the computer savvy folks we have, why someone has yet to invent a TRUELY walk-away-from canner that you load, set the gauge for pressure needed plus time needed.....then go to town or go take a nap. The job of watching a pressure gauge is the worst thing about home canning.

I have 2 prestos they work , buy an extra seal and safety valve (the little rubber dome) to have on hand
I also have an old National #7 same as a presto but before the name change
if you have the money the All American is nice

I have a old presto and mirror magic. If I was buying my first one it would be the All American. For my presto I bought a new adjustable regulator weight 5,10,15lbs. The factory one worked fine but you had to adjust the stove from time to time to keep the pressure right. The new one once it starts to jiggle back the stove off a touch and set your timer. J

The job of watching a pressure gauge is the worst thing about home canning. they have some electric pressure cookers but the push is to get away from canning I was talking with our county extention agent who has taught canning and master canning classes in the county for many years , the UW told her she may not teach canning any more. to much risk they say. they also won't let them test canners any more. as long as you don't abuse your canner , wow and let me tell you some people are very afraid of caners , I bought a little mirror ware 4 quart pressure cooker at a thrift shop and the lady at the register was so worried , I told her I was quite familiar with canners and pressure cookers the one I was purchasing would make 5 and I used them regular. she started telling me about how she would run hers under cold water , I just shook my head and thought , and this is why they rupture old ladies moving cast aluminum pressure cookers to a sink of cold water strait from the stove , metal fatigue. replace the safety rubber dome and seal every few years and can on and don't abuse your canner
