Um, redsleeves, you are way out of line, and perhaps on the wrong forum.
If I wasn't going for a record 3 years without being censored, I would tell it like it is.

You know this here is a sport trapping hang out. Your always telling them how to do it. I'm pretty " connected to the land" and I realize the term " harvest" provides cover for sport hunting and trapping. You don't really need to be P.C., if you really live off the land.

I look forward to shooting a moose like I look forward to cutting firewood; just a big pile of work!

Hey Redsleeves
If you spend all your time in the woods to feed your family when do you have time to work for the highway department or is it the other way around?
Just wondering.

The State of Alaska statues do not recognize the term "sport" in hunting or trapping, just in fishing. Look at your license. you can buy a sport fishing license, but you can only buy hunting or trapping licenses. All hunting and trapping are considered by statue and regulations as subsistence or general season. Oddly enough subsistence fishing does not require a license at all, though some road connected subsistence fisheries require a subsistence permit for fishing.
Sport hunting and trapping is only used in the realm of federal law or regulations on federal land. The fed's interpret sport as non federally quantified uses/users.

Got a few good chuckles reading through this thread. Dont much matter what you call it, critters die either way.

Boco, I've got a horse for sale if you need one, LOL, and I've even got a decent Bravo for Dirt ifin he's willing to come get it. LOL

AV dont let getting "censored" stop you, only way to go is tell it like you see it!

I also hunted my butt off for the last 5-weeks and all I got was two hindquarters of caribou, a sore back and a good pay check. Paying hunters did all the killing. Now that I got some time off I'm going to go out in the bush by myself and "put some meat in the freezer". Hows that for a PC term!

I'd like to have a Bravo just for the heck of it.

I've spent enough time in the midst of vegans, to know that they believe that "Harvest" is their word, and has nothing to do with hunting or Trapping. Apparently killing wheat embryos is a form of harvest, and eating Snow Shoe Hares I is not! Look up the word Harvest and your likely to Find the definition: " The take of a natural product on an annual basis" That sounds a lot like hunting and trapping to me. While I'm sure this
Is alternative to most, vegans don't want you to use what they perceive to be their civilized language. I use the word to remind them that they are Not superior to me, that they are not superior to us.
