Last week a friend and I were hauling some stuff up to our trapline. This is in a pretty remote area, well off the beaten path of tourist boats and other commercial traffic, recreational boaters are even uncommon in the summer months. Imagine our surprise when we turned the corner way up at the end of a particular fjord and found this yacht anchored up. I'm kind of curious who they might be; I thought maybe some of our Canadian friends might be able to identify the flag (no other identifying features or names on the boat). The flag sort of looks like the old Canadian flag that Canada retired back in the mid 60's, but not quite the same. The emblem in the lower corner of the flag looks like it might be St. Edwards Crown, but I don't know what the significance of that might be. We briefly talked to a couple of the young folks (20-30 somethings) who were out water skiing and paddle boarding. They all had British accents, but when we asked them where they were from, they quickly told us they couldn't tell us. Kind of odd. It's quite a unique boat, the hatch opening in the starboard side houses the 20' twin engine skiff (shown in an enlarged picture), we also saw stowed in the same hatch three jet skis and a four wheeler or two. I'm just sort of curious who they might be.

That's a yacht registration flag-british red ensign Bermuda registration.Lots of rich people register their superyachts under the british red ensign. Tax advantages etc.

No name or number on the hull Waggler? Looks like some of the private charter yachts that show up in Homer and Seward once in awhile. Usually celebrities of one kind or another doing a private tour. The staff always very private and discrete.
Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.

The staff always very private and discrete. We looked it over pretty well; no name or numbers visible.

Does that skiff at the bow have a shrimp pot on a puller off the side?

Does that skiff at the bow have a shrimp pot on a puller off the side? No, there are two guys up front attaching something to the anchor chain. OhioBoy, You're probably right, that rear hatch being open would prevent seeing a name if it occurs there.

If it was carrying an AIS I think there is a website to track those vessels. It may be carrying a SEPA pilot, you might be able to go that route if this was in southeast. I talked to one pilot who had a gig on a Russian billionaires yacht, he was only allowed to go from his stateroom to the bridge, escorted. That's it, meals were brought to him. Oddly, he said he thought the security guys were aussies. The thing with AIS is you can still turn it off, but Vessel Finder is one and Marine Traffic is another to find AIS boats
