Actually I was pretty confident that it was a coyote but the DNR confirmed they don’t have any collared yotes.

Looks kindly wolfy to me, but a lot of our eastern coyotes look somewhat wolfy to me.

The short nose, black tipped tail and pointy ears suggested coyote to me.

Maybe because the legs are out of site 160 but my first impression was coyote as well.

It is confirmed that it is a wolf. It isn't from my area but I got a map of the "pings" from the collar and the animal came to my area for 32 hours and then beelined back home. Cool technology!
