I just got home from 2 weeks out east.

While going through NY state I saw a plant the was everywhere in great amounts.

It was 4-7 ft. tall. Had palm type leaves on the stock and a what looked like a seed head that was light tan to a darker brown. Kind of looked like sorghum heads.

And this stuff was thick and dense. No way you could walk through it. I thought it would make great camo for a boat duck blind!

What is it?

Brad

elk, sorry not it. The leaves were a single long leaf off the stock.

Diamond, maybe but what I seen the plants were still green.

Bad news. Not too many uses for it that I know of.

Bob Sheedy Nailed It.

Phragmities. also known as Foxtail here.

There are two types in New York. One Type is invasive and the other is Indigenous.

Muskrat eat the Indigenous variety, but not the invasive One.

walleyed can't tell them apart.
