Couldn't find the exact answers I was looking for in the archives, thought I'd ask. I'm pretty sure I can freeze my pelts before fleshing. Can i freeze them after? My trapping supplies were at a relatives while I moved, cousins decided to use my wood stretchers for firewood. Wondering if I can freeze fleshed pelts until I can acquire new stretchers, or would I be better off skinning, freezing, and waiting to flesh until I get new boards?

You're better off freezing after skinning, before fleshing. If you flesh then freeze, the pelt cam dry out in the freezer and make it hard to thaw then stretch.

I will freeze after fleshing but they are never in the freezer for more than a week before putting them up for the reasons stated above. If you are going to have to wait a long time to get your stretchers, wait to flesh. If you know they are coming in the near future and want to work ahead a little, you shouldn't have any problems.

Okay. I appreciate all the input. Figure I will wait to flesh.
