My first gun was a CZ 455 .22 long rifle. I asked my uncle who knew a lot about hunting what he thought was a good .22. After a little research he got back to me with the answer, CZ 455. He said the only hang-up was that I needed to save a little bit more than what I normally would for a .22. I said "I don't care as long as it's a good gun!" So about a year later, on my 10th birthday, we went over to a little gun shop called Miller's and picked it up. My uncle had a ballistics test done and a scope put on it prior to us even getting there. He helped me out tremendously by paying for the top of the line .22 varmint scope and the ballistics test. Still, until it was all said and done I payed $500.00 dollars I had earned at the age of 9. My parents and grandma gave me $100 combined but most of the money was from working with dad on his side jobs as an arborist.

LOL, way too pricey for a 10 year old looking back, but I wouldn't trade the thing in for the world. I have pegged so many squirrels and rabbits hunting with it and it has dispatched so many coons and opossums it probably has payed back itself if I skinned, tanned and sold all the hides I've gotten with the thing.

what was your first gun?

I turned 15 a little over a week ago.

Supposedly by internet statistics the CZ 455 is the best hunting .22 long rifle on the market. They make a .17 HMR in CZ 455 that is considered the best .17 on the market as well.

20 gauge bolt action was my first gun.Got an awful lot of ducks with it,along with pheasants and grouse.Surprising how fast one can become, working that bolt action.

My first gun was my grandpas 12 gauge, It’s an Ithaca model 37 featherlight. Got my first turkey with that gun in April, it’s an amazing bird gun. I’m 15 now and I got it when I was 12

I'll get back to you on my first gun when I buy one, so far I just use my dads. If I stop buying animals I might have money to buy one lol
I want a ar15 tho, but prolly will buy a 20 gauge first.

I know how you feel! I could've gotten another gun if I wanted to but bought a $300 livestock guardian dog. Then I have my 20 guineas I started hatching and raising this year, 2, 4-H steers and 1 goat (until she kids in a two months). Now I have to start saving for an AR all over again!

haha, what type of livestock guardian dog? I have a bordernese. I've wanted guineas for a while, right now I'm working on a beef herd (I've only got one steer tho, I lost one during the winter and sold one) I've had goats before I got rid of them tho, but I will be helping on a goat farm soon. I got a horse from my sisters friend and have been broke since! but its worth it. so it might be a while before I get a gun but should have a little more money from working on the goat farm so maybe in the close future! That's great that your goat will kid tho, I like kids the best of any goat.

Mom and dad bought me a glenfield model 25 when I was about 7. It’s a marlin without a “fancy” wood. Killed a pile of critters with it. Squirrels, turkeys and groundhogs mainly but it was a solid gun. Loved it.

I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

I got a great Pyrenees with a fraction of Maremma in him. He is awesome. coyotes haven't come across the highway since we got him when they used to all the time! Not good for trapping but I can always run the 4-Wheeler over to trap on the other side of the valley. I love kids too! We have high quality Boer goats I help breed and show. It's quite the goofy operation, lol.

My first was a Winchester model 1300 youth model, pump action 20 gauge shotgun. Killed lots of snakes, birds, and even two coons. Love shooting yellow jacket nests with it! My first .22 was a Marlin Golden 39A lever-action.
