Very sweet pics, Lil Bit !
You and I know how we have been with the horses in our lives.....do you think she will take to riding as we did ? I hope so. Kevin and I have been discussing what her first pony will be. He wants Shetland, but I think a Welsh cob would be more appropriate for longer use.

Oh how fun !
If I may add my 2...... that Welsh Cob would be perfect.
Longer use- and more variety. Also, they tend to have very dependable good dispositions .
Sometimes Shetlands scheme too much with kids.....knowing what they can do to and ignore their small learning riders .
Also, she will grow fast, and a Welsh will fit her a lot longer as she becomes taller.
Plus, if a pony needs training in saddle, a smaller adult can ride a Welsh , but a small Shetland may be more difficult . A pony thats taller can handle an adult that would be able to do refinement training .
I always liked the snappy looks of the Newforest ponies, too.
Theres a slew of breeds and mixed breeds that would be a good fit too, Im sure.
I was racing small horses by the time I was six.....12-14 hand sizes.... with no troubles.

All good points! I like those Newforest ponies too, but finding them is difficult. There is a good supply of cobs over in VA.

I am having difficulty with the new Photobucket beta. It's not wanting to upload photos properly.

She is a beautiful child and growing up so fast. Thanks for sharing!
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!
