Miller fur co. Clarksville, MO 573-242-3319 Doren sells, sonny hootmans 220 DP box. Sounds like this is what your looking for. They do work ! That does sound like what I'm after. Except it would need to be for a 160 BG in Wi. I'll try to get ahold of them. Thanks

Make a wooden cubby box....recess the 160 12", make sure the opening is no bigger than 60 square inches, and stake it down. This is what I use and no dog will get in there. I might ponder this 1. None of my cubbies have a 12" recession, but I could modify 1.

I think you can use a 220 as long It's recessed 7" Yeah, there is some sort of exception like that. I'm unaware of the specifics of that portion of law, offhand though. I looked up Doren online, and called him today. Cat4fish mentioned him above. He sells dp coniboxes, but only for 220s. He said they work really slick, but aren't set up for 160's. Maybe I'll study our 220 recession law and consider calling him to see how his are set up. It may be legal depending on the box size and where the 220 sits in the box. He sounded like a great guy on the phone. We had a good conversation.

I think It's 15" In a non baited or non lured situation. I'm betting If you build a box with a 160 or no 160 the coon will be In that box. Just give It enough chain and stake the box down so It can't move. When we were live catching coon all we did was place the transfer cage up close to the coon and It would run right In the box. Then we would close the door as far as we could and pull out the foot and trap and release the coon and close the door. It even worked on red fox. You just need to have enough chain for It to work.
Give it a shot.

The DP coni boxes aren't recessed. But there made out of metal and a guy could bolt on wings top,and sides to make it recessed. Just an idea. Doren and family are great people to deal with. They've given a lot to the trapping community.I always buy something at convention to patronize them. Yeah, I should probably buy 1 and modify it to be recessed enough to be legal here.

How about a DP on a slide wire into deep water, run the slide wire thru a 330 submerged, that should keep the sucker from getting away.

The 12" roof extension may just get you busted here In WI. It "s what happened to a buddy of mine. If your going to go the extension thing I would close up all sides or at least the top and sides.
But this BG Dp thing just seems like a lot of screwing around to me.

To modify 1 for a 220 in Wi would be too much screwing around. If it fit a 160 then it probably wouldn't be a big deal. But every one I've seen marketed is designed for a 220.

I told you what to do. Put a long chain on your DP and stake down a 160 BG box with In reach. That coon will try and hide In that box and It's done and dead.
