Lithium makes up for the cost due to run time. In the Bushnell cameras, they last about 6 months. Works out to $16/year per camera for batteries.

I recently discovered that mine require Energizer ONLY and will malfunction if any other brand is used.

Energizer Lithium’s last me just about a year, and it’s out pretty much all ear, including a couple weeks worth of sub-zero. If I use video, not quite a year but it’s never been less than 6 months. They function in the cold better than anything else.
They are most definitely worth the price in the long run, especially in cold weather.
Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.

I don't run plain photo mode. Most of my cameras are set to take a picture then almost a minute of video. Many are watching the roads for ner do wells. They take a lot of pics/video in six months.

I buy Energizer lithium when I put my cameras out in summer, and they last until turkey season. That's running non-stop through even the coldest nights. They are the only battery I've found to work when it starts getting around 0 f and below. fall turkey season ? must be spring season if u are going below 0?

I use them until spring turkey season without changing batteries.
