Last year I hunted a big 14pt all season and was fortunate enough to see him in daylight once at 60 yds but it was a little out of my comfort zone. Had several pics of him throughout season then was fortunate enough to get both sides of his sheds. They scored 176". I went up last week and checked my cams and had a couple pics of him but they were blurry. So my buddy went up Friday and first evening had him at 45 yds and got winded, he then pulled the cards from my camera and I have over 100 pics the past week. He looks to have 20 pts and probably scores around 200". If I never get to see him again it's still pretty cool just having the opportunity to hunt such an animal. I will keep everyone posted on the season

Good Deer, not sure if he has enough bone for 200" though.. Hope you get Him and Prove me wrong on its score. I find once they get over that 170 mark its really hard to tell sometimes, you just know they are big..

Really nice deer, but he wont go 200 inches. Would put him in the high 170's gross, and if he walked in front of me, I would put an arrow in him. Deer of a lifetime for most of us. Hopefully he starts showing up on daytime pics for you. My experience is that deer like this will be just about totally nocturnal from 4.5 to 6.5 years of age and will lower their guard and start showing themselves in the day time at 6.5 or 7.5 years of age. I would hunt down wind on the edge of the does bedding area a couple days before halloween, and if the wind is wrong and you can't find a good way to sneak in, then STAY OUT. Good luck and hope you kill him.

Life is short, tomorrow is promised to none of us. Make the best of every day you have

A great buck.

I have the same good problem trying to hunt a mature buck is a challenge. When there is heavy bedding areas and food/crops in every direction and water available from a river that runs through it, is tough, to harvest a mature buck. I'm talking bow hunting only no rifle hunting.

Good luck keep us in formed.

So my question is this, how are you going to hunt him, and what advise would you have for me?

Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime

Well I have his sheds from last year, and he was 176", and he has put on 6 extra points and is a few inches wider and longer beams. That's the reason I say he'll be 200" gross. I know he put on at least 20" in kickers alone. But l really don't care what the score is, just enjoy hunting these big mature deer. Doubt I will get a crack at him but it's fun to try

Not 200. Ear to ear is generally 18 inches, not much tine length or circumference to get to 200 inches.

I think I must agree solid 180 but lacks girth to hit 200 but still a very nice buck! With a bow that's a trophy! 200" deer are few and far between.

Maybe one of us can get an arrow in him and we'll see what he scores. Like I said I'm just basing score off of the sheds I have from last season that were 176" as a 14pt, and he added at least 5-6 kicker points that are 3-4" long, and definitely added length to main beams. I've killed several mature deer but nothing over 150". I'm sure guys on here know more about scoring bucks than I do, but he's definitely the biggest buck I've ever had the chance to hunt. My buddies I hunt with have both taken deer over 180" so maybe this will be my year

Not sure what he measures, but one thing is for sure he will keep you up at night, and in the tree all day come the rut...
Been there....

Hope you stick him...

Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes......
Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

RM Trapper, what part of TN are you in, geographically speaking? Definitely not asking for your specific location haha grin I'm from northern middle TN. Hope you get him. It would be fun to see what he scores.
